Olympic Athlete at Eglinton Physiotherapy

Carter’s Sports Rehabilitation Story
Carter played football in the CMFL for 4 years and trained with two teams in the CFL. His love of the game didn’t start there because previously he also played for the University of Toronto.
He has suffered multiple injuries over the years in his right and left hamstring, ankle and in various shoulder muscles.
While already a client of Andra at Eglinton Physiotherapy, Carter had an encounter with an upset opponent who tackled him after a playoff game. This injury affected the entire active stability system of his left shoulder along with other muscles including his pectorals and biceps.
Yoana’s Story
Yoana is a talented young athlete. She greatly enjoys kickboxing and HIT routine exercises and hiking through the Canadian Rockies. Her active lifestyle also included being on her feet all day long at work and she started to experience knee pains.
Maria’s Motivation Story
Maria evolved a great deal of passion for CrossFit and physical fitness from the moment she stepped in the physiotherapy clinic. She came to see Andra due to strain of her Vastus Lateralis while performing athletic activities leaving her with a severe thigh injury. Her injury was resistant to healing and it stopped her from performing any of the so much-loved activities such as high intensity training with CrossFit.
Tanya’s Triumph
Tanya come in for physiotherapy with a Right Frozen Shoulder. Her case was severe. There was 20 degrees of motion in all planes and the pain level was preventing her from sleeping, performing her office job duties and at home she was unable to care for herself for basic grooming activities like washing her hair or fastening her bra
Encouragement from Erik
Erik is a young athlete. He used to train as a competitive swimmer. About 2 years back “we noticed that my spine was not straight.” His physiotherapist, Andra identified it as a spine deviation of functional nature.
Briana’s Battle with Lower Back Pain
Briana experienced the onset of her lower back pain in mid July last year. This progressively got worse and after 2-3 weeks of discomfort and her pain spiralled out of control. She was vulnerable due to extreme pain and persistent cramps rushed down her leg. She described her agony as “LEG being LIT on FIRE”.
Erin’s Empowering Story
Erin is an amazing spirit, passionate and filled with thrill. She is also a recent Cancer Survivor. About 6 years back everything changed as her physical and mental stability started to deteriorate. Erin used to be an athlete and a yoga teacher, but her “body was so broken from treatments” that as she started going through chemotherapy her life was completely changed.
Simone’s Success Story
Simone has been experiencing extreme Pelvis, Hips and Lower Back health issues. Her problems started 13 years ago after the second pregnancy. Some of the symptoms were sharp pain in the lower back, difficulty getting out of the chair and bending over. The pain mainly peaked in the morning and at the end of the day in the lower back and in the pelvis area.
Maya’s Motivation
Maya had experienced Frozen Shoulder due to an incident leaving her left arm immobilized. Her shoulder joint became stiff and inflamed, limiting her movements.
Low Level Laser Therapy for Scar Healing
Initial evaluation was 4 weeks after the Hand surgery. At this time, client was performing only the tendon hand mobilization exercises as prescribed by the surgeon. Client was in a lot of discomfort and had no functional use of the hand.
