Taping

Taping is a technique used by physiotherapists for injury prevention or rehabilitation.

Strategically applying tape to the body is an effective way of providing support, stability, and feedback to muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments, while relieving pain, reducing swelling, and improving performance.

How Taping is Used:

At Eglinton Physiotherapy we use a variety of tape. Including kinesiology tape, athletic tape and leukotape, for different types of taping as kinesio taping, mulligan taping or patellar taping.

Common injuries and conditions when taping can help include:

  • Sprains, strains, and tendinopathies

  • Joint hypermobility and instability

  • Rotator cuff

  • Tennis and golfer’s elbow

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Edema-contusions, swelling, inflammation

  • Iliotibial (IT) band syndrome

  • Shin splints

  • Plantar fasciitis or heel pain
