Breast Cancer Rehabilitation

Customized breast cancer care can help reduce pain, improve mobility and strength, increase participation in the activities of daily living, and the ability to exercise. We empower patients in their recovery when discussing the treatment plan and making specific recommendations. We work with patients to help improve their quality of life.

Each plan is personalized for each patient, using tools and techniques to help manage the short/long-term side effects and scar management. We incorporate treatment modalities without any additional cost.

Cancer rehabilitation services at our clinic are provided by a Registered Physiotherapist, and therefore covered as ‘physiotherapy’ under extended health insurance plans. Our invoices also qualify as a tax-deductible medical expense on your tax return.

Specialized physiotherapy and physical rehabilitation can be used to treat a range of side effects such as:

  • Decreased range of motion

  • Pain

  • Nerve disorders

  • Musculoskeletal disorders

  • Swelling

  • Fatigue / weakness

  • Lymphedema

  • Axillary Web Syndrome

  • Vaginal and urinary symptoms of estrogen loss
